At Auto e Moto d’Epoca in Bologna, I examined twelve Jaguar E-Types offered for sale, comparing their condition, originality, restoration quality and asking prices.

Some examples were genuinely impressive and fairly priced. Others raised serious questions about what buyers were actually being offered for their money.

The difference is not always obvious, particularly to an inexperienced enthusiast. Beautiful paintwork and an impressive asking price are no guarantee of a correctly restored Jaguar E-Type.
